Free Living Movement

Our Inspiration

The Free Living Movement draws inspiration from the free software movement and the open-software movement, extending the principle of freedom to every aspect of an individual's life.

Dignity and Freedom

We believe that the life of every individual must be characterized by self-acknowledged dignity from its inception. This means ensuring that every person is born into conditions that respect their inherent worth and potential. Life should be 'free as in freedom', unshackled by power, money, interests, political mafias, and other forms of oppression. We also advocate for free public services that come without hidden costs, such as corporate or government backdoors and intrusive tracking and surveillance technologies.

What Does a Free Life Mean in Practice?

A free life means having the autonomy and the opportunities to make meaningful and effective choices about one's own existence without undue influence from external forces. It involves free access to transparent education, healthcare, technology, economic opportunities and resources that are not controlled by few powerful adverse entities. It means living in a society where individual rights are protected and where everyone has the chance to thrive.

Our Principles

We support and sustain free (as in freedom) open-source software, open-source hardware, open-source technology and aim to extend these concepts to other fields of life. We affirm the fundamental right to be born into a world where existence is not left to mere chance, accident, or dictated by the slavery needs of a surveillance police state that seeks to conquer both body and mind. Additionally, we assert the right to grow, live meaningfully, and reach one's full potential in conditions that are not just adequate but genuinely nurturing, free from the bonds of servitude in a ruthless system where people are forced to contend with one another to serve the demands and the rules of the privileged powerful few. We also advocate for enhancing individual privacy rights, protecting individuals from power abuses, and ensuring that technological advancements reinforce rather than extinguish civil liberties.

Our Goals

Our ultimate goal is to create a world where every individual can live a life of dignity, freedom, and self-determination. We strive to build a community that values human rights and the empowerment of all people, without conflicts.

References to Free Resources

We know that in 2026 this may seem like a utopia, but we want to start by making our minor contribution with this collection of free resources. This represents an initial effort and should not be regarded as anything more than that.
